THC-Infused Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

THC Infused Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe

Biting into a fresh, warm chocolate chip cookie is an appetizing way to use marijuana products. If you use THC, a delicious recipe is a convenient and enjoyable way to do so. To make THC-infused cookies, you will need to first make cannabutter, which is the key ingredient in this type of dessert.

Making the Cannabutter

THC-infused butter is also known as cannabutter. It can take a little bit of time to make this butter, but it is not hard, and you can use it for more than just chocolate chip cookies. For example, you can make up a big batch of it and then make other baked goods, such as THC-infused brownies.

It can take two to 24 hours to make your cannabutter. This will depend on the method that you choose. The good news is that once you have made up your cannabutter, you should be able to use it for several recipes for THC-infused goodies.

To make the right type of cannabutter, you will want to be careful when you are heating the THC product. It should be heated slowly, which allows it to decarboxylate properly. This means that the THC shifts from the acid form to become more psychoactive.

Method 1: Stovetop Cannabutter

When making cannabis-infused butter, you can put cannabis that you have already used into a dry herb vaporizer. THC is not always completely decarboxylated after vaporization, but it can help you get a little more out of your cannabis leftovers.

Ingredients

1 pound unsalted butter

1 cup water, plus a little more if needed

1 ounce ground cannabis

Instructions

Combine the butter and the water over low heat in a large pot. Let the water start to simmer as the butter melts. Add more water as needed and stir to prevent the butter from burning.

Once the butter has melted and the mixture is smooth, add your cannabis.

Leave the mixture simmering over low heat for about two to three hours. Check on the mixture to make sure it is not boiling and stir it every now and then.

Using a Slow Cooker

Method 2: Using a Slow Cooker

If you have a slow cooker or you are new at making cannabutter, you might prefer this method. By using a slow cooker, you may be less likely to burn the butter. That way, the THC is more likely to decarboxylate properly.

Ingredients

1 ounce ground cannabis

1 pound unsalted butter

1 cup water, plus more if needed

Instructions

Place your butter, cannabis, and water in your slow cooker. Cover and let it cook on low for about eight to 24 hours. Stir it from time to time. The longer you let the THC infuse, the stronger the finished product will be.

Tips for Better Butter

It can take some time and practice for you to make delicious cannabis butter, so you should not feel discouraged if it did not come out right the first time around. One tip is to strain the THC butter using a cheesecloth. This will result in silkier, finer butter. Squeeze the cheesecloth to remove all of the extra moisture.

You might want to let the cannabutter and the water separate before using it, as well. Consider covering it and refrigerating it overnight before you use it. The butter will harden and separate from the water. Then, you can use the butter and get rid of the water.

Put the butter in a glass container to let it cool. This will prevent any chemicals from plastic from transferring into the warm butter.

When you are ready to use your butter, try softening it at room temperature first. A microwave can destroy some of the chemical compounds in the butter.

Making THC-Infused Cookies

After your cannabutter is ready, you can start making your chocolate chip cookies. This recipe should take about 45 minutes in total and make around 30 cookies. This includes the baking and preparation time.

Ingredients:

2 eggs

3/4 cup cannabutter

1/2 cup white sugar

1 cup packed brown sugar

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

3/4 teaspoon baking soda

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon fine salt

1 bag (12 ounces) semisweet or dark chocolate chips

Optional: 1/2 cup of crushed pretzels or 1 cup of chopped walnuts, for extra texture

Making THC Infused Cookies

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F. If you have a convection setting, turn this on.

Next, use regular butter to grease two cookie sheets. You can also line them with parchment paper or baking mats. If you are only using one cookie sheet, you will want to let it cool in between each batch of cookies.

Melt the cannabutter in a small saucepan over low heat. You can also heat the butter in the microwave for 30 seconds at a time until it has melted completely. However, remember the above tip about microwaving making the cannabutter less effective.

Put both types of sugar and the eggs in a large bowl and stir, then add the vanilla. Next, add your melted butter and whisk it until it is smooth.

In a separate bowl, combine the baking soda, salt, and flour. When the dry ingredients are ready, slowly add them to the bowl with the wet ingredients. Stir them well, but be careful to not overmix.

Next, fold in your chocolate chips and any other ingredients.

Drop the dough onto your prepared cookie sheets in rounded spoonfuls. Make sure your THC-infused cookies have about two to three inches between them.

Bake them for about 12 to 16 minutes. Bake them for a shorter amount of time if you want chewier cookies or longer if you want crunchier cookies. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack.

You can store your THC-infused chocolate chip cookies in a sealed container for up to five days.
